Pollachi sex scam : CB-CID summons two including DMK functionary’s son

Coimbatore: The CB-CID police summoned two persons including son of a DMK functionary asking them to appear for an enquiry in the Pollachi sex scam case.Hundreds of young girls and women were sexually harassed and tortured allegedly with the support of politicians. Initially, the son of a politician in the ruling party was alleged to be involved.  

The politician appeared before the media and alleged that the DMK was spreading such baseless rumors in connection with the upcoming Lok Sabha election. One victim released an audio on social media claiming that the son of the alleged politician was in no way connected to the scandal.

 

Within a few days, a rumor spread that the son of Thendral Selvaraj, DMK in charge of Pollachi south area was involved in the scandal. His son Thendral Manimaran, 27, posted on social media that he was not personally connected with Thirunavukarasu, but knew him through Facebook as a stranger.

Meanwhile, the executive president of the Congress party for Tamil Nadu, Mayura Jayakumar was summoned and interrogated by CB-CID personnel recently. They also summoned Bar Nagaraj, one of the alleged offenders in this case and Thendral Manimaran to appear for an enquiry at the Coimbatore CB-CID office before March 28 .

 

Meanwhile a 2 minute  audio by an alleged victim  went viral on social media. The woman claimed that she was also a victim of the gang, that apart from Thirunavukarasu, eight more were involved, and six more girls including a small girl were harassed along with her .

The CB-CID personnel said that they did not receive any complaint in connection with this audio, but will investigate.
