Cop’s stand on formation of SIT, asks Telangana High Court
The case, however, was adjourned till after elections.
Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Tuesday asked the Director General of Police, Telangana State to express his stand for constituting a Special Investigation Team to probe all the 36 honour killings which took place in last two years in various districts of the state.
A two-man bench of Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan and Justice A. Rajashekar Reddy, while dealing a PIL filed by U. Sambasiva Rao, social activist & coordinator, Telangana State Bahujan Resistance Forum, Hyderabad, seeking a direction to the state government to constitute a SIT to probe honour killings, asked the Telangana Police DGP to express his stand. The case, however, was adjourned till after elections.
