Andhra Pradesh stands 3rd in money seizure; Tamil Nadu tops the list

The total value of the seizure adds up to Rs 103.4 crore.

Hyderabad: In the run-up to the Lok Sabha polls, enforcement agencies across the country have seized Rs 540 crore unaccounted cash, liquor and gold till Monday.

The highest value of seizure was reportedly in Tamil Nadu, followed by Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.

With 16 days left for the polls, AP reported the largest amount of cash being seized at Rs 55 crore.

Liquor worth Rs 12 crore and gold valued at Rs 30 crore were seized by the AP police.

The total value of the seizure adds up to Rs 103.4 crore.

Uttar Pradesh topped in the seizure of narcotics.

The total amount of cash confiscated stood at Rs 8.26 crore, liquor Rs 8.06 crore.

A total of 1,160.2 kg of drugs valued at Rs 14.68 crore, gold worth Rs 59.04 crore were seized, all of it totalling Rs 104.53 crore.

In Tamil Nadu, the enforcement agencies seized Rs 36.6 crore, gold worth Rs 68 crore, adding up to 107.24 crore, the highest in the country

Enforcement agencies have tightened the flow of cash, liquor, narcotics and precious metals.
