Adilabad: Adivasi leaders’ plea to people

Adilabad: Nine Adivasi communities leaders have decided to extend support to the leader who can raise their main demand of removal of Lambadas from the STs list in the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking at Adilabad Parliament segment meeting here on Tuesday, Adivasi leaders said the entire Adivasi community must unite and support a single Adivasi candidate among the two candidates in the fray—Mr Soyam Bapurao of BJP and Mr Godam Nagesh of TRS in order to defeat the Lambada candidate Ramesh Rathod of the Congress.

Adima Girijana Salaha Sangam, ITDA, former chairman Mr Sidam Bheem Rao has announced that he will be extending support to Soyam Bapurao who was leading the Adivasi agitation.

Mr Bheem Rao said it was high time for the Adivasis to support Mr Soyam Bapurao in the interest of the Adivasi, irrespective of the party he was representing.

Andh Samaj leader Mr Jatke Panduragh, Mukade Vishnu also extended his support to Mr Soyam Bapurao. Some of the leaders said they will follow the decision taken by the Adivasi community.

Mr Satla Ashok of Naikpodu, Mr Arka Kammu of Pardhan, Gondwana Welfare Society leader Mr Ade Hanumanthrao, Telangana JAY's representative Mr Mesram Anand, Mr Pendore Rajeshwar, Thudumdebba leader Mr Godam Ganesh, Mr Jalai Jaku, Mr Kodapa Nagesh, MR Vedma Bojju, Mr Sarimedis of Rai centres, Adivasi Mahila Sangham, Adivasi Rythu Sangham district president Mr Salam Jangu Patel, leader Mr Naitham Suryabhanu and Adivasi Mr Karmika Sangham and Adivasi Mr Yuvajana Sangam leaders and others were present.
