Vontimitta abuzz with Brahmotsavam
ANANTAPUR: As part of the nine day annual Brahmotsavams of Sri Kodanda Ramalayam in Vontimitta in Kadapa district, Lord Sri Kodanarama Swamy appeared in Venugana Alankaram on Monday. Srirama Navami was celebrated on Sunday while other rituals followed on Monday. Temple authorities offered pujas to Lord Kodandarama Swamy. Unjal Seva was held for the deity after completion of the second day Brahmotsavam celebrations.
In order to assist the pilgrims during the event, apart from TTD cops and district police, the temple authorities have also been utilising the services of around 1,200 srivari sevakulus and 800 scouts for the annual fete. The volunteers have also been helping with the preparation of Thalambralu for the celestial marriage to be held on March 30. Annaprasaadam will be served separately to pilgrims, scouts, srivari sevakulus and staff during these days. On the day of Sri Sita Rama Kalyanam on March 30, elaborate arrangements of annaprasadam will be made. Buttermilk, water, toilets and security arrangements will be ensured for the convenience of the devotees who would flood the place for the celestial marriage.
This year 230 temporary toilets will be set up in the premises of Kalyana Vedika while 350 additional sanitation staff have been hired exclusively for the occasion. Health camps will also be in place. About 200 annaprasadam counters will be set up. Six lakh butter milk packets, three lakh water satchets will be distributed, TTD officials said.
