His friends suspect the varsity and police framed him because he was making a documentary on Rohith Vemula.

Cyberabad police claimed that the film maker did not leave the premises of V-C Prof. Appa Rao’s house and stayed with student protesters despite being told to leave. “We announced twice that all protesters should leave the premises. While other media members moved away, Moses Tulasi did not leave the place,” said Gachibowli inspector J. Ramesh.

The film-maker’s friend said said that he was taking sound bytes from the students at the time of lathi-charge. “Cops thrashed him and dragged him to the van,” said his friend Navdeep

Police officials refuted the allegations and asked why he had entered the campus in the first place. “He came in without anybody’s permission,” said the inspector.

“I met him at Cherlapally jail. Apparently, police had asked the media present at the site to stay inside before the lathi-charge and Moses did not know about this because he was busy covering the protest,” said his friend Vaikhari Aryat
Police has booked him on charges of rioting, voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons and for assault or criminal force to deter public servant.
