Patna: A temple in the memory of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi is being constructed in Bihar, a Congress leader said.
The temple of the former PM who was assassinated in 1991 is being built in Bihar’s Buxar district is likely to become functional by next year.
A local Congress leader Mrityunjay Rai is said to be a brain behind the project.
According to him the “construction of the temple is a gesture of respect of people for the former prime minister who did remarkable work for the nation. He led this country towards development.”
The issue is likely to snowball as the opposition parties in Bihar may oppose the move.
