Adilabad Ambali served in Telangana Assembly to beat the heat
Hyderabad: Adilabad Ambali, a desi gruel made of jowar which is believed to prevent sunstroke and save one from heatwaves, was distributed free in TS Assembly premises on Saturday.
Sirpur Kagaznagar TRS MLA Koneru Konnappa opened a counter in the Assembly premises. Housing minister A. Indrakaran Reddy, forests minister Jogu Ramanna, TRS Armoor MLA Jeevan Reddy, other legislators, police, Assembly staff and scribes were seen relishing the gruel.
Mr Konnappa, with the support of the government, is planning to open more Adilabad Ambali centres in the twin cities for the benefit of the people. “After Ugadi, we will open more counters,” he said.
For the benefit of patients and others, he also plans to open counters in the Osmania General Hospital, Gandhi Hospital, NIMS and Basavataraka Cancer Hospital.
