Hyderabad: The Congress chose former MLA T. Jeevan Reddy as MLC candidate from the Graduates Constituency, and TPCC treasurer Gudur Narayana Reddy has been almost finalised as the party nominee for the MLC election from the MLAs quota.
The meeting also witnessed a heated debate between TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sampath Kumar and former MLAs D.K. Aruna, who proposed the name of former Union minister S. Jaipal Reddy for Mahbubnagar Lok Sabha constituency. When he refused, Ms Aruna said he was doing so because victory was not certain. She said senior leaders must play a major role in difficult times.
