Bengaluru: Shortly after the film Shivarajini, the story of three women from three different eras, which traces the experience and evolution of gender discrimination, experts and filmmakers came together for an interaction on gender sensitivity. It was led by Vidya Shankar, Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar, Champa Shetty and Vasant S. Sai. Director Champa said the film reminded her of her own family situation as a newly-wed and how she dealt with its problems.

People believe that movies like Shivaranjini play a very important role in shedding light on how these issues are dealt with in society. They provide a large-scale perspective and help tackle problems from a grassroots level.

They also discussed how these inequalities prevail in other fields and how they could be overcome. The experts stressed on how women can now aspire towards and actually create the things they can be, do and accomplish under new circumstances, where they have the opportunities they were previously denied.
