Aero blaze: HAL refutes fire wing's claim

The fire mishap at the AERO India resulted in the charring of more than 300 vehicles.

BENGALURU: The Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has refuted the claims of the fire department that the DPSU did not take NoC. The fire mishap at the AERO India resulted in the charring of more than 300 vehicles.

"We strongly refute this claim of Fire Department that a notice was issued to HAL on February 19, 2019, " HAL said on Tuesday. The notice from the fire department refers to the temporary structures being raised inside the show not complying with the regulations.

"It may be noted from the wording of the notice that it refers to the temporary structures being raised inside the show venue and does not refer to the Parking lot in any way. The State Fire Department is diverting the public’s attention from the parking lot fire to the exhibition area," HAL officials said, challenging the fire department claim.
