Telangana to launch own app store
Hyderabad: Each day, several apps such as BHIM, m-Aadhaar, Digi locker come up to cater to citizens’ needs. At the state-level as well, several apps are being created to address the local needs of citizens. Telangana has T-wallet, RTA-m-wallet, GHMC app, Hawk eye app and other. With the increasing number of apps being created each day for citizens, India in itself doesn’t have an app store where all these applications can be aggregated and made easy for citizens to download or directly use. But TS will be launching a T app folio on Wednesday.
“The citizen service ideas of the next 10,000 successful services are easy to forecast: Take X, authenticate with Aadhaar, seed bank account, add technologies like artificial intelligence, business intelligence, machine learning, block chain, add platforms, and the will and commitment of the government of India. You have digital India,” Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, additional Chief Secretary Punjab said, while speaking at the conference on e-governance on the topic ‘common platforms to foster incubation, create services for citizens by government and private institutions.’
He pointed out that India needs an app store to aggregate all the applications as the decade 2010-2020 has seen the largest of digital innovations. Meanwhile, TS will be launching a T app folio which will cover all the services offered by various departments. IT minister K.T. Rama Rao said that TS will be the second state to launch T app folio – a comprehensive app store of all TS government services.
