Telangana: Real e-governance is the 3Es, says K T Rama Rao

Telangana delivers G2C (government to customer) services to its citizens online through a network of about 4,500 MeeSeva centers, said KTR.

Hyderabad: India, which is currently still considered a third world country, can become a first world country, if we harness the power of information technology, said minister K.T. Rama Rao, speaking at the inaugural session of the 21st National conference on E-governance held at HICC on Monday.

The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Union government, along with the ministry of electronics and information technology, Union government, in association with the Telangana government, is conducting a two-day conference on e-governance.

Mr Rao said, “e-governance is more than just electronic governance. It has to have 3E’s – Easy, Efficient and Effective. People have to accept it from their perspective, only then real e-governance can be achieved.”

Pointing out that IT, which was confined to procurement of services, has evolved and became pervasive with the power of technology, he said, “Telangana delivers G2C (government to customer) services to its citizens online through a network of about 4,500 MeeSeva centers. The Telangana state with 1.5lakh G2C and C2G transactions per day, has the highest digital transactions.”

Meanwhile, Mr C.R. Chaudhary, Union minister of state for consumer affairs, said, “He said 1,10,000 lakh gram panchayats in India have been connected with optical fibre.
