Hyderabad Metro Rail ousts car dealer, takes land for parking
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail officials have evacuated Ever Cars near Ameerpet Metro station on Monday afternoon and took possession of 1,200 sq ft that had been handed over by the government for parking facilities. Ever Cars were served notice by HMR to vacate a month ago but it was dodging and not responding. The property had been illegally occupied by them.
HMR managing director N.V.S. Reddy said, “They had occupied government land and it was important that it be utilised for government projects. The team worked hard in evacuating the car trader. It is a prime property which was handed to us and we are now going to develop it for parking facilities.”
Similarly, at Nampally 2,800 sq yards from Nampally Sarai to the Nampally Metro station had been transferred by GHMC to HMR. This land had been gated and covered so that it could be developed in parking facilities.
The Metro authorities were now trying to develop parking facilities at major metro stations in the city so that the people opt for the rial mode of travel.
