Kurnool: With so much of government land available in Kurnool district, the district administration is finding it difficult to protect it from land grabbers.
Kurnool city is peculiarly zonalised with the most important part of the city detached from municipal limits and attached to Kallur grama panchayat that comes under Panyam constituency though geographically it is in the middle of the city.
The Village Revenue Officer of Kallur and the Tahasildar had come in for sharp criticism for alienating government lands. A public prosecutor was said to have come hand in gloves with rural revenue unit at Kallur and made a killing in usurping the lands, said an advocate.
Government lands here are not safe as most of the law makers are now enjoying power in the ruling party, said a social activist.
