Governor Narasimhan says 85 per cent happy in Andhra Pradesh
Vijayawada: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan stated that 85 percent of the AP public were happy with governance. He lauded the government for designing and implementing schemes of public interest.
The Governor hoisted the flag in the Indira Gandhi municipal stadium grounds in Vijayawada on Friday on Republic Day. He reached here after participating in the celebrations in Telangana state.
The Governor said the state government had ensured food security to every person through the technology-enabled public distribution system. As many as 1.42 crore BPL families are being served through the supply of essential commodities.
The Governor stated that the government has laid special emphasis on extending affordable health care to every individual across the remote areas of the state and said AP was making significant strides towards achieving a clean and green state.
Rs 7,621 Crore spent on roads in AP
During the last three years, a total of 10,270 kilometres of road length has been improved, including the completion of 167 bridges at a cost of '7,621 crore, said the Governor. He enumerated the progress in Amrut mission, BC welfare, SC welfare, sports, agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, handloom weavers, welfare schemes, housing, rural development, water supply, irrigation, industry, capital city construction, tourism and power sector.
The vision of the government was to bring an ideal form of governance for the people within grasp, said the Governor and added that it was also committed towards comprehensive development and growth of the state through technological advancement and innovation.
The Governor’s speech lasted 35 minutes for 24 pages, as he had to deliver a speech in Telangana state earlier.
