TTD trust board announces salary hikes and welfare measures for employees

Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced a series of welfare measures for its employees, including salary hikes for both permanent and contractual workers across various departments, and an increase in financial assistance to mutts affiliated with Tirumala Pedda Jeeyar and Chinna Jeeyar.

TTD chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and executive officer AV Dharma Reddy briefed the media here after a trust board meeting on Tuesday.

The salary for Srivari Potu workers of Tirumala temple has been raised by Rs 10,000. Additionally, all Vahana bearers are now recognized as skilled workers, entailing a considerable enhancement in their pay scales.

Contractual workers in various departments will see salary increases: skilled workers' pay rises from Rs 15,000 to Rs 18,500, semi-skilled workers from Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000, and unskilled workers' pay hikes from Rs 10,340 to Rs 15,000.

The board approved financial assistance hikes for the mutts associated with Tirumala pontiffs. The Pedda Jeeyar Mutt will now receive an additional Rs 60 lakh annually, totalling Rs 2.6 crore, while the Chinna Jeeyar Mutt will receive an extra Rs 40 lakh, bringing the total to Rs 2.10 crore.

Chairman Reddy revealed that, in line with Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's directives, house sites are being distributed to all TTD employees. In the first phase on Dec 28, as many as 3,518 employees would receive house sites. The distribution would continue in subsequent phases, with plans to provide sites to 1,500 employees in January 2024 and additionally to pensioners by February 2024.

As part of promoting Hindu Sanatana Dharma, the temple trust will organise a Dharmic Sadas in February 2024, inviting pontiffs and mutt chiefs from across the country to contribute suggestions for advancing Dharmic activities.

A significant development is the Jharkhand government's request for a temple dedicated to Sri Venkateswara Swamy on a 100-acre land at Devgarh. The TTD board has approved the construction of this temple after completing the administrative procedures.

In terms of infrastructure, the trust board approved several development and renovation projects in Tirumala and Tirupati worth over Rs 250 crore. This includes Rs 209.65 crore each for building new rest houses at Achyuta and Sripatham complexes in Tirupati and new parking lots, roads, rest houses, cottages, toilet blocks, and drainage systems at various places.

A key project is the Rs 17.29 crore four-laning and beautification of the road from Cherlopalli to Srinivasa Mangapuram.

The board also sanctioned Rs 2 crore for the development of the Sri Moolasthana Yellamma temple in Chandragiri. Participants in the Srinivasa Divyanugraha Visesha Homa at Alipiri Sapta Go Pradakshina Mandiram will now have the opportunity for Darshan through Supatham on a payment of Rs 300 per person after the Homam.
