Use shariah court, say clerics
Hyderabad: A group of Islamic scholars on Monday challenged the book Mohammedan Law used for pronouncing judgements in courts on Muslim issues.
Speaking at a seminar organised by Sada-e-Haq Sharaee Council, convenor Moinuddin said, “The Shariah courts are the right platforms for resolving matters related to Muslims.”
He called upon the Muslims to approach the Shariah courts for proper judgements based of Islamic values and principles.
Professor Mohsin Usman Nadwi urged the intellectuals of the community to assess the the variance of the Mohammedan Law with the Shariah.
“There are many mistakes in the translation and terminology presented in the book which is used for pronouncing judgements on the Muslim matters,” he said, adding that the Shariah courts would help in providing faster resolution of conflicts and would provide insightful judgments.
