Bengaluru: A newlywed couple hanged themselves at their residence in Kengeri police limits on Sunday night.
The deceased have been identified as Praveen, 24, who hailed from Mandya, and Priya, 19. They lived in a rented house in Mallasandra in Kengeri. Both were in love for many years, convinced their parents and got married on November 9. The couple had a stall in Kengeri where they prepared and sold Gobi Manchurian.
The couple came back early from work on Sunday night and hanged themselves from the ceiling of their house. Priya’s mother came to their house and told police immediately.
A police official said that the reason behind the suicide is still not known as the couple were happy and newlywed and had no financial problems. The Kengeri police have registered a case and sent the bodies for postmortem.
