Christmas celebrated with pomp in AP

A team of international singers sang nine hymns, all in praise of the Father-Son duo in Puttaparthi.

Anantapur: Christmas was celebrated at all parts of the region with pomp and gaiety. YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family members offered prayers at local church in Pulivendula in Kadapa district on Sunday.

Accompanied by his mother Vijayamma, wife Bharathi and others, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy offered prayers at the CSI church.

Prasanthinilayam in Puttaparthi was decorated for the special occasion. A team of international singers sang nine hymns, all in praise of the Father-Son duo.

The programme was commenced with a violin concert by the 'blooming buds' of Baba's Primary School, playing a series of slow numbers.

Marching forward, the ever vibrant Prasanthi Nilayam Band presented a scintillating display of Band-Music next, rocking the house with the beauty of Christmas splendour.

Serenading the Mighty Heavenly Father and His Heavenly Son, singing paeans, the Institute Music Band then presented a 45-minute programme, depicting the life of Jesus through hymns, interlaced with commentary, narrating the story of the glory of grand Christmas.

Civil supplies minister Paritala Sunitha, Urban MLA V. Prabhakar Chowdary and several others participated in the celebrations in Anantapur.
