Mock drill held at Miyapur metro station
Hyderabad: Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad to inaugurate the first phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, a fire drill and a mock rescue operation were conducted at Miyapur and Kukatpally stations on Saturday. The Prime Minister, along with Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao, will take a ride on the Metro from Miyapur to Kukatpally on November 28. Fire safety measures have been scrutinised by the fire safety department. A thorough inspection of the station, Metro Rail and the rescue equipment was done. Using the Bronto Sky Lift’s hydraulic platform, two persons were rescued from the top floor as part of the drill. This equipment can reach up to a height of 54 metres. Rescue tools and water jets were inspected at the two stations.
