Bhopal: A youth in a Madhya Pradesh village has literally turned his stomach a dump site of waste articles such as nails, needles, broken iron chains and even coins.
Doctors in government medical college hospital in district headquarters town of Rewa on Saturday removed unwanted articles weighing nearly one kg from the stomach of a youth hailing from the village of Shohabal in the district after a three-hour-long surgery.
“We have removed 263 coins of Rs two, Rs five and Rs 10 denominations as well as nails and broken iron chains from the stomach of the youth following a surgery”, a member of the team of doctors who conducted operations on him told this newspaper. The coins valued Rs 790, he added.
“It seems he is mentally deranged. He was in a serious condition when he was admitted in the hospital. He was now showing sign of improvement in his health,” he added.
According to him, the reserve of articles recovered from the youth’s body appeared to be six months old.
