Vijayawada: Pub culture is growing in Vijayawada. Even though there are only two pubs that are active in the city now, the youth are increasingly showing their preference to visit these pubs on a regular basis, as per a recent study. The Cuba Libra Pub, which is in Trendset Mall, Benz Circle, had been opened two years back. The manager of the pub said that there is an increase of 40 per cent of customers as compared to the crowd last year. He added that the average age of the pub visitors ranges from 18 to 35 years.
Another pub named, Klubf5, is located at Siddhardhanagar, Mogalrajapuram, which is also doing brisk business. They have witnessed a growth of 30 per cent in the number of customers this year. The pubs are offering additional services, like hosting movie promotions, music concerts and other events. Boys and girls from the families of businessmen, politicians and bureaucrats are regulars at the pubs now. Meanwhile, enterprising businesspersons, who want to rake in a quick buck, are waiting to set up new pubs in Vijayawada, by analysing the business trend in the existing pubs. The new players are expecting to earn profits in the next few years.
