Supreme Court notices to Telangana, AP on PG-medical admissions
Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Friday issued notices to the AP and TS governments, Medical Council of India and the Centre over the Neet-PG admission notification issued by the Centre stating that students from AP and TS were eligible for only 50 per cent of the total seats notified under NEET.
TS student Shravya moved the court against the notification arguing that it amounts to violation of Article 14 of the Constitution. The court adjourned the case for four weeks. The bench comprising Justice Deepak Mishra and Amitava Roy heard the petition.
Counsel Anumolu Venkatesh submitted that due to the notification students from TS and AP would lose the opportunity to apply for nearly 10,000 seats notified under Neet-PG. The court issued notices and adjourned the case for four weeks.
