Narendra Modi lauds CM’s excellent arrangements

The Ambassador profusely thanked Mr. Palaniswami for all the hospitality and assistance accorded to the Chinese President and the team.

CHENNAI: The Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi has lauded the "excellent arrangements" made by the Tamil Nadu government and other related organisations for the recent 'informal summit' between the Indian Premier and the Chinese President Xi Jinping at Mamallapuram near here.

In a letter to the Chief Minister, Mr. Edappadi K Palaniswami, the Prime Minister has personally congratulated him for helping to make the event a grand success.

In particular, Mr. Modi has mentioned the extremely impressive arrangements made for the rousing reception given to the visiting Chinese President and the warm hospitality accorded to everyone who were part of the informal summit, "which collectively reflected our rich cultural heritage and traditions."

Stating that the summit was an "unforgettable event for both the Chinese President and me," Mr. Modi in his letter also expressed appreciation of all the supporting social, cultural and political organisations, besides the people of Tamil Nadu for "very excellent arrangements" made for the summit as a whole, including organising a wonderful cultural programme at Mamallapuram. The content of Mr. Modi's letter to Mr. Palaniswami was stated in an official release.

The Chinese Ambassador to India Sun Weidong, in his letter to Mr. Palaniswami, also expressed his appreciation of the excellent arrangements made by the TN for the second Sino-India informal summit held at Mamallapuram.

The Ambassador profusely thanked Mr. Palaniswami for all the hospitality and assistance accorded to the Chinese President and the team of officials and delegation members who accompanied him.
