Karnataka cabinet clears GIS based property ID
Bengaluru: The state Cabinet on Thursday cleared a proposal to introduce Geographical Information System (GIS) based property identification in urban areas.
Speaking to reporters here after the Cabinet meeting, Co-operation Minister Mr Bandeppa Kashempur said the new system will rectify the mistakes that could take place during a manual survey.
Besides, the Cabinet also approved renewal of the mining lease of the Union government owned National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) in the state. So far, the government was collecting a nominal fee for all these mining areas. It has now been decided to propose a new fee system wherein the amount would be fixed at 80% for similar mines owned by private entities, which have got the lease through auction..
