FIR registered against Sruthi Hariharan at Cyber Crime police station

The actor's cousin, Shiva Arjun Sarja along with his manager, met the city police commissioner and filed the complaint on his behalf.

Bengaluru: The Cyber Crime police on Thursday registered an FIR against actress, Sruthi Hariharan after actor, Arjun Sarja sent a complaint to city police commissioner, T Suneel Kumar accusing her of defaming him and his family intentionally along with others.

The actor's cousin, Shiva Arjun Sarja along with his manager, met the city police commissioner and filed the complaint on his behalf. Acting on the commissioner's instructions, the complaint was immediately transferred to the cyber crime police station and by evening, the FIR was registered against the actress, Sruthi Hariharan and others. The police said that a case has been registered under section 66 of Information Technology act-2000 (Computer related offences) naming Sruthi Hariharan as the prime accused.

In the complaint, Arjun Sarja has alleged that Shruthi along with others had conspired against Arjun and his family to tarnish his image adding that she also entered into a criminal conspiracy to malign the image of the actor using social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp and others with an intention to extort money. He also alleged that fake accounts were created in social media using his personnel information and by uploading derogatory posts.

Meanwhile, Arjun Sarja’s advocate filed an injunction application before the court and a defamation case with the city civil court on Thursday, seeking an injunction against Sruthi Hariharan to restrain her from posting or making any defamatory statements against him. The judge reserved the order on prohibiting Sruthi from posting any statements against Sarja for Friday.
