Lankan minister to lay stone for Buddhist park

Hyderabad: Buddhavanam special officer Mallepalli Laxmaiah said Vidura Wickramanayaka, minister of Buddhasasana, religious and cultural affairs, Sri Lanka, had accepted an invitation for the stone-laying ceremony for a Buddhist theme park in the city in October.

The project is named ‘The 2,500 years journey of Buddhism’. He suggested an MoU between to establish a Sri Lanka-Telangana friendship centre at Hyderabad. The MoU would have exchange and academic programme on the cultural front through heritage forums with meetings at Hyderabad and Colombo alternately once every three months, according to a statement.
