Robbery: Two minors and youth arrested
BENGALURU: Parappana Agrahara police have put an end to the free run of three boys turned robbers who created havoc in the region.
According to police, the arrested have been identified as Sandeep (18), a resident of Parappana Agrahara. The other two are minors.
The police have seized 3 bikes, 8 mobiles and a laptop worth Rs 11 lakh from the accused. The trio spent all the robbed money on enjoyments, including consuming alcohol.
The accused strolled the city to steal bikes. After lifting bikes, they rode on the vehicle and robbed people who travelled on lonely stretches of the city.
The trio brutally assaulted those who protested their robbery attempts with weapons. On Sept.14 at 1.20 am, the accused had attacked Bharat, whom they targeted to rob. Bharath was going on a bike on Shanthipur road when these robbers waylaid him and threatened him with a knife.
After 30 minutes, the same gang had robbed Karna Dutta and Kiran, both private company employees on Doddanagamangala main road. After threatening them by placing a knife on their necks, they had robbed their mobiles and wallets.
The trio created fearful environment in surrounding areas of the Parappana Agrahara and became a headache to the jurisdictional police.
The Parappana Agrahara police acting on a tip off arrested the accused persons.
By arresting them, the police managed to solve 11 cases in Jigani, Begur, Anekal, Sarjapur and other areas. South East DCP Isha Pant appreciated the police for their work.
