ED designated court rejects D K Shivakumar bail plea

At around 5 pm, the Judge came to the court hall and read out a single line order saying that the bail application had been dismissed.

Bengaluru: The Enforcement Designated Court, on Wednesday dismissed the bail petition of former Karnataka Minister Mr D K Shivakumar.

Mr D K Shivakumar was remanded to judicial custody on Sep 17, for 14 days and the custody would end on Oct 1. Now, he has to continue staying at Tihar jail.

After long arguments from both ED and Mr Shivakumar counsels, the ED designate court judge Ajay Kumar Kahar reserved the order for Wednesday. At around 5 pm, the Judge came to the court hall and read out a single line order saying that the bail application had been dismissed.

Though expressing confidence of getting bail, Mr Shivakumar's brother Mr D K Suresh and others were preparing to approach Delhi High Court. The appeal is expected to be filed on Thursday.
