Secular parties must unite against BJP in 2019 polls, says M K Faizy
Mr Faizy was in Mangaluru to participate in the programmes of the party on Tuesday.
Mangaluru: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) president M.K. Faizy has stressed the need for unity among secular political parties to prevent BJP from returning to power in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Mr Faizy was in Mangaluru to participate in the programmes of the party on Tuesday.
“The SDPI has been fighting against the Modi-led NDA government’s policies as they divide people on communal lines. There is a need to put up a united fight to keep the BJP away from power,” he said.
Mr Faizi said the SDPI is willing to join the Mahagathbhandan against the BJP but added that it is too early to discuss seat-sharing. He felt that even if the party joined the Mahagathbhandan, it would not lose its identity.
