Hyderabad High Court relief to assistant motor vehicle inspectors

Justice P. Naveen Rao while dealing with the separate petitions by the AMVIs questioned the orders while granting the stay.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court granted relief to 34 assistant motor vehicle inspectors (AMVIs) working in the Telangana State Transport Department by staying the orders issued by the authorities reverting them to the posts of constables and senior assistants. Justice P. Naveen Rao while dealing with the separate petitions by the AMVIs questioned the orders while granting the stay.

The petitioners told the court that they had joined the department as constables and senior assistants and were promoted as the AMVIs in 2010 and 2011 as they had a diploma in mechanical engineering. They submitted that a CID probe was conducted in view of allegations that the diplomas obtained by them from institutions at Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan are bogus following which they were demoted without the notice. While staying the orders, the judge issued notices to the respondents and adjourned the case.
