CHENNAI: The health condition of M. Natarajan, husband of ousted AIADMK leader V.K. Sasikala, has worsened due to liver failure, kidney failure and lung congestion and he continues to be critical, doctors treating him said on Monday.
Natarajan, 74, has been undergoing treatment at the Global Hospitals for the last nine months and is currently in the ICU, doctors said, adding that his family has been apprised of his “critical condition” and they understand the “seriousness of the illness.”
“Currently, he is admitted at the Liver ICU, Gleneagles Global Health City, Chennai with worsening liver failure, kidney failure and lung congestion and his condition remains critical. He is receiving dialysis and other supportive care, currently not on ventilator support,” Dr K. Illankumaran, Director, Institute of Liver Disease and Transplantation, said in a health bulletin. The doctor said Natarajan was still awaiting liver and kidney transplantation. On September 10, the hospital said Natarajan had registered with the Tamil Nadu Organ Sharing Registry.
