Vijayawada: People are in a rage against the VIP treatment of Kanakadurga temple management.
They alleged that the temple management is giving top most priority to the VIPs for darshan keeping common man in queue for hours. The visitors also said that the vehicles of the common man are diverted from the check-post at the entrance of the temple restricting them from the ghat road to Indrakeeladri, but not the vehicles of the VIPs.
On the other hand, the lifts at Maha Mandapam in the temple are not in a working condition, which also annoyed the devotees.
Many of the VIPs along with citizens from Krishna, Guntur and other districts are visiting Prakasam Barrage with their family members and friends as all the crest gates have been opened, which bought serenity to the barrage and as it is a Sunday. They are also visiting Indrakeeladri temple for Kanakadurga Devi darshan. In this context, there is huge crowd gathered on the Indrakeeladri.
Ms Shanthi, a housewife, who visited Durga temple along with her family members, complained that all are equal before God. There should not be any discrimination, but these days because of the VIPs, common people are suffering by standing in queue for long hours waiting for darshan of the temple diety.
