Stopping Rahul Gandhi in Sringar undemocratic: S Thirunavukkarasar

Thirunavukkarasar said DMK president M K Stalin was firm on the party’s stand on the Kashmir issue and there was no wavering on his part.

Pudukkottai: Senior Congress leader and Tiruchirappalli Lok Sabha member,

S.Thirunavukkarasar condemned the authorities for preventing the entry of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other opposition party leaders into Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.

He told newsmen at Pudukkottai on Sunday, the action of Jammu and Kashmir authorities clearly showed that the situation in Kashmir valley was still tense.

He said DMK president M K Stalin was firm on the party’s stand on the Kashmir issue and there was no wavering on his part.

He also strongly condemned the arrest of former Union minister and senior Congress leader P. Chidambaram, but added they will not be cowed down by the
“vindictive action” of the BJP government.

Mr. Tirunavukkarasar said the measures to boost the economy announced by the Finance minister, Dr Nirmala Sitharaman, showed she had “committed a mistake” when she presented the Union Budget recently.

He also condemned the Union Government’s reported move to privatise the Ordnance Factory at Tiruchy and urged the Centre to give up such moves
immediately.

To a query, the Congress MP congratulated Chief Minister, Mr Edappadi K Palaniswami for his foreign tour next week to bring more foreign investments to Tamil Nadu.
