No suitable candidates for urdu teachers

The MIM leaders told them that due to the elections and shifting of offices of the Secretariat, the process was delayed.

Hyderabad: The government has not de-reserved 558 posts of Urdu medium special grade teachers, school assistants, lower primary teachers and physical teachers. The appointments to these posts have not taken place in the reserved category due to the absence of suitable candidates from the SC, ST and BC groups.

A delegation of TS Urdu Trained Teachers Association led by its president Mohammed Moizuddin and general secretary Mohammed Quamer Hussain called on MIM Charminar legislator Ahmed Pasha Quadri and Legislative Council member Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri at the MIM headquarters on Saturday and requested them to pressurise the government to de-reserve the posts in the absence of suitable candidates.

They said the government had notified 786 posts in 2012 and 900 in 2017 for the Urdu medium schools, but only 320 and 342 posts respectively were filled as candidates from the reserved categories did not turn up.

The association said that in 2005, the Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy government had relaxed the roster system for the teachers’ posts in Urdu medium school to fill vacancies in the reserved seats.

The MIM leaders told them that due to the elections and shifting of offices of the Secretariat, the process was delayed. They were hopeful that the government would take steps to fill the vacant posts in Urdu medium schools. They assured the delegation that they would raise the issue in the ensuing Legislative session.
