TIRUCHY: In tragic developments, three persons including a state government official were killed in two separate road accidents near Tiruchy on Saturday.
Police said two persons employed as two-wheeler mechanics were killed when their bike collided head-on with a state-owned Tnstc city bus at suburb Bikshandaarkovil on Saturday night.
The deceased were identified as P. Rajkumar (20), and K. Karthick Raja (17) of Manchanallur. Police arrested the bus driver Jothirajan and are probing.
In the second accident, a 41-year-old state Govt official was killed when a car in which he was travelling collided with a lorry at Kottur on Tiruchy-Salem highway near Musiri on Saturday.
The official, Subbaiah, was working as auditing inspector attached to the Panchayat union office at Musiri, police sources said.
