BENGALURU: To reduce the number of accidents due to potholes, the traffic police have taken an initiative and started filling the potholes. On Thursday, the KS Layout traffic police filled potholes on a 30-50 feet stretch on Anjanapura Double Road. The police claimed that even after several complaints over the last one month, BBMP officials failed to take any action.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Krishnaiah with the help of other policemen filled the potholes on Anjanapura Double Road on Thursday morning. The road is prone to many accidents and the potholes had left many bikers injured, especially during rains.

BBMP officials failed to repair the road, though several complaints were made to them, the police said. Mr Krishnaiah said that the repair work they have done is only temporary, and could be washed away during rains. "The potholes have been filled with mud. We will continue to request Palike officials to repair the road," he said.
