Errabelli Dayakar Rao wants permanent facilities for biennial jatra

The biggest tribal fair of Asia is scheduled to be held between February 5 and 8, 2020.

Warangal: Panchayat raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Thursday asked the Mulugu district administration to make permanent arrangements for the upcoming Medaram Sammakka Saralamma jatra.

Mr Dayakar Rao said, “Roads, toilets, lighting, water facility and other essential facilities must be put up on a permanent basis. Primary focus needs to be put on sanitation. Works must be executed on a war footing and completed by January 1.

We must also take into account the sentiments of the adivasis and help the fair to be a success. Adivasis should be involved in all the major decisions.”

The biennial tribal fare conducted at Medaram village in Tadvai mandal attracts more than 1 crore devotees from across the country.

District collector C. Narayana Reddy, ITDA project officer Chakradhar Rao and ZP chairperson Jakku Sriharshini discussed the progress of the arrangements with the minister at his residence in Hanamkonda.
