Karnataka CM should consult citizens, says HS Doreswamy
Bengaluru: Freedom fighter and Gandhian H.S. Doreswamy has called upon Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy to hear the voices of common man and find solutions for issues bothering the city.
He stressed that citizens have to be part of the governance process.
Last month he along with United Bengaluru, an umbrella of several citizen groups and RWAs, in a letter addressed to the chief minister demanded that he should meet citizens and discuss the issues bothering them.
They range from commercialization of residential areas, crumbling city infrastructure and mobility, setting up of ward committees, citizen participation in urban governance, solid waste management, Bannerghatta eco-sensitive zone, RERA and other issues.
"CM's office has forwarded the letter to Additional Chief Secretary, Urban Development Department asking us to follow it up with them. It is unfair for the CM to forward our letter to the ACS," Doreswamy said and added that "We as citizens are not looking for a reply but a solution."
"The Chief Minister must meet us and find solutions. Citizens have to be part of the governance process and find solutions along with the Government," he said.
