Karnataka: 26 per cent clear PU supplementary exam
Bengaluru: With almost six per cent increase in the pass percentage of the II PUC Supplementary results, as compared to that of 2016, more students from the state secured their qualification to pursue higher education.
The results announced by the Department of Pre-University Education on Tuesday saw 26.34% of the students who took the exams clearing them. The valuation of the answer scripts which took place in 14 camps at the city saw 5,329 valuators completing the task within six days. The girls have once again outshined the boys with 29.80% of them clearing the line against the 23.90% pass share of the latter. Compared to rural Karnataka with a pass percentage of 25.29%, urban areas did fairly well with 26.61% pass rate.
Moreover, the pass percentage of the students who opted for science is comparatively high than the students of Arts and Commerce streams. On the comparative chart, the pass percentage of the English medium students is high with 30.47% while only 22.15% of the Kannada medium students have passed. Students can apply for re-totaling and revaluation online before August 3. While re-totalling is free of cost, a fee of Rs 1,260 should be remitted per subject for revaluation other than a cost of Rs 400 for applying a scanned copy of the answer script. Communication will be sent to the students in an SMS format with a valid one-time password (OTP) for downloading the scan copy.
