Hyderabad: No official permission was taken for the puja in Gandhi Hospital. The Superintendent Dr Shravan Kumar issued a warning to all doctor’s not to perform any puja or yagna inside the hospital ward. On Tuesday, in the gynaecology department homam was performed as there were maternal deaths and deaths of newborn children. Doctors from gynaecology department participated in the puja which was done inside their ward. During that time a lot of smoke emanated which irritated some patients but no complaints were made.
Dr Shravan Kumar said, “Performing the puja was not a crime. There is no need to constitute an inquiry. It was a puja done for the well-being of patients.” “A warning has been issued to all doctors not to indulge in any puja inside the hospital premises. Not a single patient is suffering from any kind of problem,” Dr Kumar said.
