Thiruvananthapuram: Congress member M. Vincent has again sought permission to move a private member's bill in the assembly to restrict wom-en of fertile age, defined as between ten and 50, entering Sabarimala temple.

He urged the LDF government to consider devotees of Lord Ayyappa as a separate religious group and bring the new legislation to protect their rituals and customs from the September 28 Supreme Court verdict.

Earlier Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan had rejected the bill pointing out that the matter was sub judice.

Mr Vincent who submitted a new request on Tuesday pointed out that RSP MP N. K. Premach-andran had got permission for the same in Lok Sabha.

It was for the courts and not the assembly to decide on whether a Bill was unconstitutional or not, he said in his notice.

On the first occasion, the Speaker had referred it to the law department  to which the law secretary replied it was unconstitutional.
