Kochi: HC seeks report on Balabhaskar’s death

Kochi: The High Court on Tuesday asked the Crime Branch to submit its investigation report on the death of musician Balabhaskar in two days.

The court was considering bail petitions of gold smuggling accused Prakash Thampy and Vishnu who were allegedly his associates.

The HC sought whether they had any link with the death.

The court also queried whether there was a mystery behind the death and if so, its areas of suspicion and link with the gold smuggling.

Police arrested Mr Thampy and Mr Vishnu a few months after the death of the musician.

Unni, the father of the musician, had alleged that the two had links with the death.

The CB launched a fresh investigation into the accident following the arrests. They also sought the details of the financial transactions of the late musician from banks and the Income Tax department.
