AP cuts security of N Chandrababu Naidu family

The state government also issued an order withdrawing security for Mr Naidu’s wife Bhuva-neswari and his daughter-in-law Brahmani.

Vijayawada: The AP government has scaled down security cover to the family members of former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. Accordingly, Mr Naidu’s son and former minister Nara Lokesh will be given ‘Y plus’ security cover with two-plus-two security personnel standing guard. He had been earlier given ‘Z’category with five+five cover.

The state government also issued an order withdrawing security for Mr Naidu’s wife Bhuva-neswari and his daughter-in-law Brahmani.

Earlier, the state government had reduced Mr Naidu’s ‘Z Plus’ cover soon after the YSR Cong-ress assumed power. Mr Naidu gets security that is accorded to the leader of Opposition in the Assembly.

TD leaders and the supporters expressed anger over the state government decision and said it had reduced security cover without taking the Naidus into confidence.

Former deputy Chief Minister N. Chinaraja-ppa said, “Scaling down security cover to our party president and his son is unfortunate and an act of vengeance. When our government was in power, we provided security cover to YSR’s family members, including Vijayamma and Sharmila, even though Security Review Committee recommended otherwise.”

He wondered whether the YSR Congress regime intended to undo what the TD government had done for development of the state. He was referring to the government’s decision to demolish Praja Vedika, claiming that it is an illegal structure while ignoring several illegal structures all along the Karakatta beside the Krishna river.
