CM Pinarayi Vijayan to honour all who worked to curb Nipah
Kozhikode: Kozhikode is all set to honour all those who have tremendously put in their efforts to curb the spread of the deadly virus Nipah, informed district collector U.V. Jose. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the event on July 1 at 6 p.m. at Kozhikode Tagore Centenary Hall. Health minister K.K. Shylaja, transport minister A.K. Saseendran and Excise and Labour minister T.P. Ramakrishnan will be present.
“In the recent past, there has been one such incident reported in the district where we witnessed great team work, which is the reason why we were able to stop its spread to more people and save two lives. All those who have worked behind this will be honored during the day, he added. The event named as ‘Kozhikodeinde Snehadharam’ will be attended by people from all walks of life.
Health department director R.L. Saritha, district medical officer Dr V. Jayasree, Medical College principal Dr R. Rajendran, superintendent K.G. Sajith Kumar, Baby Memorial Hospital Critical care head Dr Anoop Kumar, corporation health officer Dr R.S. Gopakumar, Manipal Center for Virus Research Dr G. Arun Kumar, district veterinary department head Dr A.C. Mohandas, Dr Jayakrishnan, ambulance drivers, nurses, cleaning staff, will be honored during the occasion.
Nurse Lini who died of Nipah would be commemorated at the event.
