Hyderabad: Bharath Raju was earlier arrested twice, once for peddling drugs along with a Nigerian national and at another time for abusing the police under the effect of alcohol. He was out on bail.
In 2010, actor Ravi Teja’s brothers Bharat and Raghu got arrested in a drugs scandal in Banjara Hills along with a Nigerian convict. The car they used was registered on Ravi Teja’s name.
The duo along with a few others were travelling in the car when the police found drugs in the vehicle during checks at Banjara Hills.
In 2014, Madhapur police arrested Bharat for abusing police near his house. When police noticed that Bharath and a woman had parked their cars on the road near Kavuri Hills and were talking in the early morning, they questioned them. Bharath got furious and started abusing the cops. He was arrested.
According to sources, Ravi Teja had distanced himself from Bharath after this.
Only a few people including actor Jeevi-tha Rajashekar was present at his funeral in Mahaprasthanam. Ravi Teja, who was shooting in Hyderabad, conveyed a message through his close friend and actor Uttej that he could not see his brother in such condition.
Bharath’s relatives said that he was selected for the next season of the Big Brother reality show to be hosted by Salman Khan.
After the autopsy at Osmania Hospital, the body was handed over to Bharath’s younger brother Raghu, from where it was shifted to Mahaprasthanam.
