Nellore: The mayor of Nellore Municipal Corporation Sk. Abdul Azeez set the foundation stone for the development of a park to be taken up with Rs 50 lakh Amrut funds, near Anil Gardens on the mini bypass road in Nellore on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the mayor said that the Centre had introduced the Amrut Scheme almost a year ago and any project taken up under this programme had to be completed in five years time.
A total of Rs 50,000 crore was sanctioned under the scheme across the country and of that Rs 2,750 crore would be the share for the state. He advised them development should be above political interests as people are keenly observing all the leaders. Nellore rural MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy, who was the chief guest for the function, complimented the mayor for working for the development of the city. He opined that they would have no objection to work with the ruling party if the NMC allocates the funds equally to all the 54 wards in the city. He declared that he is ready to work with the TD rural in-charge Adala Prabhakar Reddy, ma-yor and local corporator.
TD city president Kotamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy said that Abdul Azeez is doing a justifiable administration and development is taking place in a never before manner. He reiterated that the Telugu Desam government would always provide a clean administration.
