Hyderabad metro employee dies on spot in road accident

Shaikh, a Metro train operator and resident of Nizampet, left home to go to work about 5.30 am on Saturday.

Hyderabad: A 26-year-old Metro Rail employee died in a road accident in Kukatpally on Saturday morning. A heavy vehicle rammed into the two-wheeler from the rear due to which the rider, Naseer Shaik, sustained severe injuries and died on the spot.

Shaikh, a Metro train operator and resident of Nizampet, left home to go to work about 5.30 am on Saturday. He met with the accident near the BJP office in Kukatpally when a lorry (AP10 OU 8519) hit his two-wheeler from behind. The lorry driver escaped from the spot after the accident took place.

According to a witness, the lorry was speeding and hit Shaik’s two-wheeler from the rear.

Based on the complaint filed by Asif, the brother-in-law of Shaikh, Kukatpally sub-inspector Y. Ramesh registered a case under section 304 (A) of the IPC.

Further investigation is underway.
