Hyderabad: Heatwave to continue till May 28, says IMD

The extremely dry weather is prevailing due to the hot winds blowing from Maharashtra and also Rayalseema.

Hyderabad: The Mercury levels in Hyderabad shot up to 42.2 degree Celsius on Saturday. Kapra and Karvan areas recorded a temperature of 42 degree Celsius.

In the other areas of the city, the temperatures ranged between 40.7 and 41.9 degrees Celsius. Hot winds began blowing as early as 9 am and continued till late in the evening.

The extremely dry weather is prevailing due to the hot winds blowing from Maharashtra and also Rayalseema.

The temperatures are rising across the country. The weather department says there will also be thunderstorms and light to moderate rain due to these extreme weather conditions.

Heatwave conditions may continue till May 28 and people have been advised not to venture out in direct sunlight as it can be harmful.
